Academic Services

Advising

In the Center for Academic Student Services, we provide general advising about College and University requirements, policies and procedures to all students in the College. We are located in One Meserve Hall, (617) 373-3980. We have a two-tiered system of academic advising. The first tier of advising is provided by us, your Academic Advisor (a.k.a. dean's office advisor). Please contact us if you have questions or concerns before you come to orientation.

The second tier of advising is provided by a Faculty Advisor (a.k.a. major or department advisor)in your major whom you will meet during orientation.

Tutoring

The CAS Tutoring Program strives to meet the academic needs of undergraduate students by providing a wide range of tutoring services for many courses offered in the College. The goal of the tutoring program is to promote independent and active learning among students and to have a direct and positive effect on improving their academic achievement.

Experiential Learning

Integrating classroom study and experiential learning is a cornerstone of the Northeastern undergraduate experience. The Center for Academic Student Services is the place to come to learn more about the many experiential learning opportunities available to you in the College. Experiential Learning includes cooperative education, undergraduate research, service-learning, selected global experiences, and more.
